Project Background & Synopsis

Set against a vibrant, historical Tampa backdrop, “Left On Read” serves as the primary narrative visual bringing the Summer 6ix Pack, a 7-track collection sonically capturing the energy, romance, and nuance of summer through a local lens. to life.

The story opens on a high-energy gathering that slows into a tense, captivating waltz. As couples dance in the dark, the room shifts its focus toward a central female subject along with her partner. The surrounding couples watch with a mixture of caution and silent warning, navigating the unwritten rules of romance while their partners try to pull their focus back. The visual weaves together distinct thematic layers: from the dapper, elevated aesthetic of Black Dandyism, to a reminder of Tampa’s presence as a staple in Black music history as a famous stop on Chitlain Circuit of the 1940s and 1950s.
